The desire to speak badly about another race isn't about going against political correctness. It's about prejudice.

Of course if you want to notice social trends there is a critical and intelligent way to talk about it. Hopefully you'll want to understand why there are social problems and you'll wish to be a part of the solution. You could do actual research about the demographics of particular areas and the rate of particular crimes that occur there. As Chasey mentioned, you should also pay close attention to the demographics of ordinary people and non-criminals. You would understand that the group that you research doesn't represent a people as a whole, but some subsection based on location, economics, social status, history, etc.. Probably you might be interested in why those problems occur. Or is it just the case that you want to complain? I suppose you'll probably want to extend your research to include Asian gangs, neo-Nazis, Filipino gangs, the mafia, etc.. I guess while your at it you may want to look at corporate crime and drugs problems in wealth areas too. Or is it just that you are interesting in crime by black people without economic resources? Is there a reason for this? Do you live in such an area? If so are you aware of this history there and why it is that way? What will you do with the results of your investigation? Do you mean them to understand another set of people? Do you mean to justify your prejudices against them?

This statement in particular caught my attention:
"For some reason, the powers that be, want Blacks to be popular and avoid some aspects of truth."

Can you back this up in any objective way? It is far from my experience of this society. You urge people to think for themselves and it seems like that is exactly what you have done: thought about these things all by yourself and come up with a few ill-founded conclusions based upon your prejudices.

In general I find your whole notion of wanting to "criticize the blacks" to be troubling and, frankly, simplistic. What does it really mean to "criticize" a whole people?

In short, why are you so obsessed with justifying your need to look at the negative qualities that you perceive about black people? Have you even looked into the rates of crimes for Indian or Asian people? Sure you may feel that you know this, but can you back it up? Can you prove it? You have feelings about how positively black people are portrayed in media? Can you back this up? You have feelings about how black people are portrayed disproportionately to other groups. Is all of this just opinion? If not, then why don't you carefully lay out your arguments and how you would like things to be different.

Because when you come in here with crude statement about how Indians and Asians "should not criticize blacks" then I just have to question your motivation. I have to question the origins of your feelings. I have to question your goals.

In my opinion the media represents black people very negatively as compared to the reality. Or at least in a very narrow way. Your perception of a positive representation may not be very sensitive. I see a lot of clowns like Chris Tucker who are loud mouthed and obnoxious. On the news I see a disproportionate amount of criminals. I see successful, intelligent black people being portrayed as the exception. Things have gotten better, but I don't see a full range of representations. There are all types of black people, just as there are all types of every group. Do you seriously claim that you see a full range of types of black people represented? Do you seriously claim that they are represented more than their percentage of the population?

These web sites have made me aware of something that I had never thought about before. I knew that there were a lot of negative stereotypes against black people, but it is shocking to me that some other minorities have negative perceptions about black people because of their perceived successes and power.

You praise the positive histories of Asians and deride the histories of blacks. You describe Indians and Chinese as hardworking people who "roll up their sleeves." It seems like for some groups you look only to positives and another group you want to uncover the negatives. Why?

I think it is part of the same deep rooted prejudice that makes you want to look for negative things about blacks. It almost hurts you to see them being presented positively or having power. You think that you should have more of a role in that power that you see them have. If even those people that you look down on have power or are successful it makes you feel worse about your own people's position. You feel like: "these blacks are bad people, why are they doing so well?" You feel that it isn't fair.

Before coming out and making these statements why don't you look into yourself and your true feelings about your own people and others. Then after you understand your own feelings why don't you go look for true information and history about the society you live in. Not news reports and not hearsay. Not your personal feelings. True information.

Then why don't you do something positive with it?

Doesn't that sound better than complaining about not being able to demean others?

It's not 'political correctness', as you say it is simply correct. Correct and right to believe in the good of people, instead of constantly digging up dirt, where there isn't any.

I am not 'brainwashed' because I love my fellow brothers and sister regardless of their colour, infact I would come to the conclusion YOU must be brainwashed, in order to write with such racial undertones.

You can dictate all the facts and figures you want, but while your at it, also put in all the great black leaders, campainers for justice, in a country that has tried to opress them for so long, also write about the ordinary black man or woman that work nine to five, are law-abiding, give to charities and support other minorites in their fight for fairness. I didn't see you do that.

Regardless, if racism excists, then it's there against all of us who are coloured, regardless of the shade variations. Do you understand what I am saying? You must be so very ignorant if you think that because you have a certain job, or you work extra hours, or you don't complain as some blacks might about the injustices of the land; that you are better in some way? and so you should be excused from racists attacks/slurs, comments? That just is not reality.

If you are trying to make yourself to be out better than someone else, than you are no better than the average white racist, who no doubt hates you for the same reasons.

I have noticed that in America, due to political correctness, when young Indian people and I suppose Chinese, Asians and other minorities as well, have to discuss the negative side of the Blacks or Negroes, there is a feeling of uncomfortableness/uneasiness as if to say we should not criticise blacks.

I would say to Asian and other minorities, if you do honest work, and try to live within the laws of the land, why should you feel guilty when white people critise minorities or when you have to critcise blacks when they do wrong? Asians fall into two general catogeries. One group is brainwashed by the media because they see negroes protrayed in films, television etc and think they can do no wrong. Other minortiies rarley think why the blacks are always given such high profile compared to other minorities.

The second group may think because we are the minority we should not critise blacks, but I would say:
If the blacks in America have the highest rate of crime compared to other minorities, why not discuss it. How many tourists are mugged, raped etc in their hotel rooms every year mostly by blacks do you think?

In Washington, the Capital of the so called super power, you are likley to be mugged, kidnapped or killed mostly by blacks.

It is not just economic reasons, did not Indian, Chinese and others have to roll their sleeves up and make their way when they came to America?

Why does not the media give these details to the people do you think. dont expect the media to tell the truth. Learn to think for yourselves.

For some reason, the powers that be, want Blacks to be popular and avoid some aspects of truth.
